Ovation of the Seas Delivered

9 April 2016

A ceremony in Bremerhaven yesterday marked the delivery of Ovation of the Seas - Royal Caribbean's third Quantum-class ship - from Meyer Werft in Papenburg.

Richard Fain, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. chairman and ceo, received the ship from Bernard Meyer, Meyer Werft managing partner.

'Ovation of the Seas is magnificent,' Fain said. 'Our thanks to the Meyer Werft team for their ongoing partnership in designing and building awe-inspiring ships with us.'
Michael Bayley, president and ceo of RCI, added:

'It’s wonderful to welcome Ovation of the Seas to the Royal Caribbean family of ships.' He said the ship was built for the China market, 'a market we continue to demonstrate our commitment to expanding' and also shared that the Quantum-class ships had 'redefined the status quo, and we are excited for our guests in China and Australia to enjoy their extraordinary vacations on board this stunner.'
Ovation of the Seas will sail to Southampton for a series of short cruises before embarking on a 52-day 'Global Odyssey' repositioning voyage to Tianjin, China. The first sailing from Tianjin will be in June.

The Ovation joins Legend of the Seas, Mariner of the Seas, Quantum of the Seas and Voyager of the Seas in China. After her China season, Ovation of the Seas will give Australians the first taste of Quantum cruising at home.
