Royal Caribbean to Offer Multi-Day Shore Excursions

11 April 2016

Royal Caribbean passengers looking to experience more of a destination than just a half-day port call can sign up for multi-day shore trips in several international destinations as part of the new Multi-Day Adventures program of the line.

Multi-day adventures are actually fully guided 2-day, overnight shore tours which include transportation, dining, hotel accommodations, sightseeing and even airfare. Cruisers who choose one of the tours will depart the Royal Caribbean ship upon arriving at a designated cruise port, remain on land overnight and rejoin the ship at the next port of call.

The new Multi-Day Adventure Program is offered by the company in select ports in Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, Australia and New Zealand. Following are some examples, including:

  • Argolida Region and Katakolon: Participants will visit the Acropolis of Athens and ancient Mycenae site of Argolida, before staying overnight in the first capital of Greece, Nafpolio, then travel to Olympia, site of the ancient Olympic Games.
  • Bangkok: The 2-day itinerary features adventures in the canals and river tributaries of the city via a motor launch, and visits to iconic sites and monuments including Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), Grand Palace and Wat Traimit, known as the Temple of Golden Buddha. Prices are based on double occupancy and start from $499 per adult ($299 per child, infants are free).
  • Tikal and Ceremonial Show: The tour starts with a flight out of Belize/Honduras to Guatemala, where travelers will visit the ancient Mayan capital of Tikal and attend an authentic Mayan ceremony. The next day participants will board a flight to meet up with their cruise ship. Prices start at $799 for adults and kids (infants are free).
