Carnival Pride Delayed Due to Propulsion Issue

6 April 2016

According to a statement from Carnival Cruise Line, as the result of unspecified propulsion issues, Carnival Pride canceled 2 port calls on her April 3 itinerary.

The problem, which started on the ship's March 27 cruise, caused Pride to arrive back to her homeport of Baltimore on Sunday, several hours behind schedule. Due to the need for limited speed on her current 7-night voyage, the ports of Half Moon Cay and Grand Turk have been canceled.

As compensation, Carnival offers a 50% refund to each guest, as well as 50% off a future cruise and a $25 onboard credit. Passengers booked on the sailing were given the option to cancel for a full refund prior to the start of the cruise.

Carnival Pride is currently heading to Nassau, to call at the port on Wednesday and will then visit Freeport on Thursday. The ship will then spend two additional sea days before returning to Baltimore April 10.

Technicians are still working on the issue. The company did not comment on what the problem is or when repairs are to be completed.
